Id be more worried about the epoxy coming off and going through the motor than I would be about a little casting issue behind the sleeve. The drag motors that would normally get the putty wouldn't be subject to the hrs a lake motor needs to deal with.

Did you discover how your stuffers up front ever became hot enough to burn?Last edited by FMP; 03-17-2019 at 10:42 AM.

Proper surface preparation , textured lightly and clean. Layering to build up to 0.75" thick, with sufficient air curing time between layers. Fuel , oil etc will not effect the cured product.
100% to be used with aluminum, Aremco technical support.

I use nothing but splash zone. Been using it for years inside crankcases in lake motors with lots of hours on them with absolutely no issues. But proper preparation and knowing how to use, mix, and apply is very important. Also pricey to but a gallon, unless you are going to be using it regularly. It has a shelf like of 1-1 1/2 years stored in climate controlled area.

I left the epoxy issue for a while and took some time to fit the CCMS intake stuffers I got from Chris.
The product and its material is great to work with! Very easy to make adjustments iot ensure a perfect fit with regards to the sometimes ****ty OMC casting.
The mods shown in the pics is done because the stuffers is designed to fit the later style Diamond intakes and not the ones I use. I am running an early round version that lacks the wall of teacup style intakes.
I tried two methods to ensure a perfect fit, both delivers the same positive result:
1. I put my mainfold in my mill iot remove all mismatching flawes. Very easy, takes about 10min per reed area. Perfect result every time.
2. Since most people don’t have a mill, The next method was to mod the stuffers one by one iot ensure a perfect fit inside each reed seat. Easily done with a small belt grinder.
Below shows the not milled reed seat.
Weather you use the mill or not, some small edges must probably be smoothened out, in my case because the stock edges has been removed prior iot improve flow.
After (just going to give the surface another round in the sand blasting box iot ensure atomisation of the air/fuel charge)
Even cyl 1 fits nicely despite the tight runner.
Great product!
I can definately recomend buying it even if you use other intake versions than the intended diamond type. The material is very easy to work with!

Nice transitions in to the reed cage! I didn't spend as much time on mine and this makes me want to go back and work in them some more.

It looks like all the lower cylinder port cutouts are still sharp ? I always break the sharp edge on the lower feeders and edge of the sleeve all the way around the bottom ..you don't want anything sharp that can wipe the oil away from the skirt. My opinion anyway.. Dave
