Sea star pro helm to Mercury/uflex ram conversion

Recently bought used hydraulic steering and was told it was everything I needed, well of course it wasn’t. I have a sea star pro helm and a mercury ram part# 897974-A01
Im missing the fittings I need to connect the sea star lines to the ram, what do I need? Does anyone have a part number or link? Preferably 90° fittings Thanks

Nope. The ram doesn't know what is pushing the fluid.

Nope. The ram doesn't know what is pushing the fluid. Your helm is 1500 psi. Is your ram? Use 1500 psi hoses.

I'm no expert on marine hydraulic steering. After saying that I doubt it will be a problem. I'd still use 1500 psi hoses. Watch the ram for leaks.

Wait for others to chime in.

Its a way better ram. doesnt have pivot plate/weak point like the sea star. That ram is made to use on large outboards with mercurys verado power steer pump.. Will be fine..

you may want to check with Sea Star I was told by them that the Pro helm will not work with side ram steering . I have the complete Sea Star pro kit and wanted to change to side ram and they said the helm was built for the pro cylinder and was valved to get stiffer as speed and torque increased . I can say that that part is at least true as mine does stiffen up when you stomp on it .

It’s not a side ram, it’s a balanced front ram.

I have a lightly used UFlex Silver Steer ram if anyone’s interested, I’ll sell it cheap.
