    Seebold Tunnel Hull?

Hey everyone, I ran across this posting today on FB Marketplace and it kinda caught my interest as I’ve been looking at maybe getting a boat that is more speed oriented than my bassboat is. I’m unfamiliar with almost all but the most mainstream ‘speed’ boat brands and hadn’t ever heard of Seebold before. But I knew the guys and gals over here at S&F most likely would. I’ll attach some screenshots from the listing and maybe you guys can give me an indication of whether it’s worth looking into.

I can check for seaworthiness as far as structural integrity stuff goes, but if it’s for instance a hull known to be hard to drive or one that lacks performance potential, I’ll probably pass. The owner says it runs around 85, which is honestly a decent step up from my bassboat. And I would think a good stepping stone to higher speeds in the future maybe.

anyways, thanks for any input you guys may have for me about this

They were good in ruff water from what I remember, It's a rare good boat, in my opinion.

Take a look, transom and stringers, have $5,000 cash in hand and do the old this all I have

It's a quality well built boat, by the fastest family of outboard racing, everything else they build were true circle race boats.

It looks like it was kept under cover to me, because that 35 year old trailer looks good for it's age.

Check the DOT stamp on the tires, even if they look new,

any tire over 6 years is junk.

These hulls were raced by Tim Seebold in IOGP Mod VP and did pretty well. It's a good solid package for stepping up from a bass boat.

    Cool

never saw that model before , quite current design wise , quite similar to a Mirage ,wonder which came 1st? if it's solid I don't think you could get hurt unless the person is unrealistic on price , and tweeked out could be a hoot ! Get it and bring it to Tavares in March (if you consider 80's as current )

I 100% agree with this post as I have driven this model Seebold rig and found it to be an ideal rig for the application in question. It was a very stable mod vp style rig. Chances are, it may not be the fastest rig on the lake, but a good boat to learn the difference between a bass boat and a lake racer.

I bought one new and completely enjoyed the boat and yes they were produced by Sidewinder in Ontario o/b/o Seebold. The seller's suggested speed is right on with that power. There was some wood in these boat so you'd want to make sure it has been properly cared for. The 18 Seebold Warrior was a cool boat but I never had a chance to ride in one.

I had a 1986 for awhile. Really nice boat. I ran a variety of engines starting with a 200XS, 225 promax, 300 promax and finally a 280. Ran mid 90's with 280. Deep tunnels compared to mirage and stv. Took a good 65 or 70mph to lift and fly. Hardest turning boat I've ever driven. Would sit dead flat and turn on a dime. Would like to own another at some point. That's a good buy.

Assume OP bought it. Posting said sold last time I looked. I considered going to check it out.

Hadn’t been on here in a while due to work and health issues, but unfortunately someone beat me to flashing cash to the owner… I’ll keep my eyes open for something else this winter/into next year maybe if everything works out okay. It sounds like I missed a good boat, but that’s life I guess
