Thread: Here's the deal

Most people that know me know that I banning somebody is a decision that is not easy for me in most cases. Before taking that action, I try to reach common ground with the offending person and in many cases, I probably give too many chances to people that are intent on causing harm to the forum. Cuda has been a S&F member from the very beginning of this site, so banning him was a very weighty decision. I don't know why he became the way he did, but he's banned now and will not be able to register a new name here. It is unfortunate that it came to that, but I had no choice. I know a lot of folks will say I should have banned him long ago, and that is probably the truth, but I often try to avoid that whenever possible. But he's gone now, and I hope we can just avoid any future discussion about him and move on.

Greg, I do not envy your position, but I do appreciate all you do for this site. It is ashamed that people with opposing views cannot discuss them rather than just hurl insults. I did not engage with Cuda too much because he always posted links rather than trying to explain his point of view. I realize most of us on here is either middle or towards the right, but I respect and will listen to anyone's point of view, Hell I may even learn something. It just seems Cuda got to where all he wanted was to make other mad. I wish him no ill will but cannot say I will miss his post either. Thanks again for Scream and Fly Sir

Greg has never banned anyone that did not go out of their way to deserve it. His commitment to fairness and to all of us on this site is what makes this place great. We appreciate all you do my friend and I hope this site lasts forever.

Thank you Greg.
I remember when CUDA was building his own design of boat to go racing. It was cool to see someone do that and interesting to hear about the process and out come.
I don't know what happened in his life to turn him into a troll but I imagine it was something he should have gotten the proper help, to help him deal with it.
One thing I know for sure is, if you are having serious issues in your life and don't address them in a healthy manor those problems/issues will surface in other ways, usually bad ways.Last edited by CDave; 10-27-2025 at 06:19 PM.

I had been talking with Jim (Cuda) and decided to give him another chance here. There have been many issues in recent years, however I also recognize that he has been a member here from the very beginning and has helped a great many people. I also want to point out that a few years ago, after hurricane Ian, Jim voluntarily came here with a crew to help remove a very large palm tree that was nearly ready to fall on my house. So, I try to keep all things in perspective.
I realize that politics is a really sensitive issue to many folks and this is not a political forum, so I am asking Jim and everybody to keep that in mind because this last Google violation I received two weeks ago really hurt me bad. Everything I earn now is going to paying off my mom's medical debts and I have been selling off a lot of possessions to that end as well, so having this site suspended from earning ad revenue for a month really, really hit me hard.
I am asking that we all be able to discuss our opinions without any concerns about being harassed by other people. A lot of that back-and-forth fighting had gone on and that absolutely must not exist here. I hope you all understand my decision to reverse the ban I had on Cuda.
Above all else, I am very, very grateful for all of the support you have given me. I wake up every day always remembering that. That is what drives me to make this place as good as I can make it for you all. I have a lot of plans for the site that you will all really like. If anybody would like to offer their financial support for S&F, it is always immensely appreciated. And on that subject, absolutely 100% of all Team Membership funds are always directly used to help pay for this site's operating costs. And that means that S&F is not my site, it is ours.
Thanks again everybody,
Greg
