1990 Mariner 200HP 2.5L Carb. Lower unit with 2:1 gear ratio. Compression is right around 100 on all cylinders. Motor is in good shape and runs very well. Selling complete motor as is with no controls. Located at 7 Lakes Marine Service in Sanbornville, NH Asking $4,200. DM with any questions.

Are you sure it’s a 1990? I didn’t think that 2.5s came out till 1991 !!

If you want to get technical, it was built in 1990 and invoiced to the dealer in 1990, but not sold until 1991.

Like in automotive, the model year starts around June the year before. So a motor made in July 1990 would be considered a 1991 model.

If the serial number is between 0C291520 and 0D081999 according to the parts manual it will be a 7 petal reed motor. It has the water cooled regulator which is correct for that serial number range.
