There was an issue of Powerboat in I think 1972 that had a feature article about Dick about how his equipment looked as good - equal to the factory equipment. Wish I had that issue.

You are correct, Peter! I took this photo in 1972 at Havasu. Drove down with Dick's Cantek Team from Toronto to Arizona that year and took a ton of photos.... had an awesome time!

I think this photo is from South Africa, 1973. If you can read the caption, I believe it says Sanders ran a rotary and finished second to Dick. That had to be a very proud moment for him.

One of my favourite Dick Summerfeldt pictures. Beautiful Molinari, Havasu 1971.
Dick's co-driver was Jim Cascadden, two very capable tunnel hull pilots.

I know this thread is 'HOT SINGLES'...but couldn't help include this when talking about Dick Summerfeldt.

That's a good one. When you posted this one a few years back it really surprised me. Brought a few memories back. Parry Sound '73 , my head was on a swivel watching it, in the white hull. Thanks for posting it.

I think that is one of Mark Rotharmel's pictures that I 'borrowed' !!

Dick Summerfeldt #988, Ludy Schindler #13 and Andre Savard # 77.

If I remember correctly probably heat #2 because I don't see Dick's team mate Brian Smith (#588), Brian barrel rolled in heat #1.

VERY cool that you were there as well.
