electric F150
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Details and Facts (autoweek.com)
I get that there are skeptics and EVs are only 3% of the market now, but a lot of money says they are the future. Personally I'm not ready for the Tesla pick up styling

The Ford is at least a reasonable truck. I saw a mach-e mustang at the dealer today. It was not bad looking. Lady that owned it said she liked it, but that she only used it for short trips and just plugged it in every night. Had come close to end of batt power a couple of times and got nervous. I think that for a 300 mile trip it would be sketchy to me.. Here's the debut of the Lightning electric. Skip to the last part for the truck.

Be interesting to see how towing affects the range... even my little boat is probably 3500# with the trailer; then put 1000# of extra passengers and gear in the truck.

Gotta love all the misinformation, the Lightning will be assembled in Detroit, at a brand new facility built on their Rouge complex.
I plopped down $100 for a reservation so if I like what I see when the full line pricing and specs are published I can place an order. Fully refundable if I don’t like what I see.Mark

Yeah, asked about my Bronco order today. Now, it may be next year before built. But, I don't care when or if they build them. I just thought it was a cool 4x4 and might be fun to play with. The dealer lots being vacant is so surreal it is kinda spooky. Used to seeing 100's of vehicles. There were some rangers, 1 bronco sport and a few expeditions. Several left over 2020 Mustangs and a few F-150's. Not one super duty.

Yep, it’s definitely surreal. But here’s where all the F-150’s are

One thing for sure with the F150 Lightning, you won't be driving 200 miles to a campsite and back without stopping somewhere for a charge overnight....defeats the weekend warrior.

The campsite issue has been thought of and they are addressing that with charging stations placed in locations that make them convenient at major intersections around the perimeter of national parks and major campgrounds. Many KOA locations are installing 240V adaptors on the 30A and 50A RV connectors so you can use the portable chargers to charge the first night you arrive and keep it topped off while you’re there. Hell, the little RV campground next to Blackwater in Astor shows up on the Tesla site as a destination charger. The Tesla portable charger with a NEMA 14-50 plug will charge almost as fast as our 60A home wall charger.
the bigger issue for road trippers will be charging along the way. All of the current DC chargers use water cooled cables so the cable length is very limited. The way current fast charging stations are set up you would have to unhitch the trailer to get the truck plugged in. That’s fairly easy to fix but you’d need to set aside a lot of asphalt to allow rigs to pull through and plug in with as much as 40’ of travel trailer / boat trailer behind them. You would need something like the truck/trailer parking areas in Interstate rest stops and most places where the current chargers are don’t have that kind of room.Mark

How long would it take to make a full charge on a suv like the Mustang E? It says it has a 300 mile range

From what I'm reading, about 28 miles per hour of charge at a 240V charge station. So, almost 11 hours. 11 hours of charge, 4 1/4 hours driving (at 70 mph highway)...... that sucks.
I did a trip from Miami to Chicago last year, took about two days up and two days back (10 - 11 hours a day)..... roughly 1400 miles each way. in an electric car/truck it probably would have been almost 5 days each way. Until they get faster charging down and longer range, they can keep them IMO."One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors".
