OMC Lean Sneeze
1996 225 Venom: Fresh rebuild, used original reeds, with carbs rebuilt as well. On the first start of the morning, it will sneeze three times before it clears up. Won't sneeze the rest of the day. runs smooth as silk. Thoughts?

Is that carbed or efi?
if carb, i would hold primer/choke for a bit longer. If efi, just run it.
if it only does it 3 times, it would not bother me much. If it were doing it more often, i would replace reeds. Mine was sneezing all the time at idle. New reeds, no more issues.

Its called case firing and is caused by a lean condition.

On any OMC with the primer solenoid, prime bulb tight, turn key to 'on' position, push key in and hold it in for about 3 to 4 seconds before cranking engine. This helps stops the lean spits.

Yes, priming the bulb 'fills' everything, all fuel lines, carb bowls and the electric primer. This ensures that when you turn the key on and push it the fuel will begin releasing into the nozzles. The old reed box nozzles on the cross flow motors were check valves. They were bad about needing replacement.
