So how fast is the new Red openbow 25' Eliminator with 450's that was just finished up? Should be north of 150mph.....
Or is it a heavy layup that is over #5,000 lbs and slow, old school bottom, and only set up for acceleration and the owner does not want to go fast......
The Eliminator is a beautiful boat, just waiting to hear the high numbers or excuse of why it does not go fast.

I'd consider anything over 80 fast ,(I'm poor boy) but for the $$$$$$$$$ spent I would sure wanna see 150 from a rig like that

"Dad, Grandpa's fishing dinghy does about 6mph with his 6hp, our whaler with the 35 does 35 mph and your Formula E does 70mph with its 70",
"thats right" I say, "why do you ask"
"I was wondering whats wrong with that 450 Merc"

I know who Mannerfelt is. His bat boats are fast. It is also a fact that his boats and Buzzi's have been upside down more than other designs.

So could you show proof? I know most of the offshore races are on the other side of the pond.

Mannerfelt has always worked with bending water using the engery to gain lift ... They sold speed rails an aftermarket tack on

https://youtu.be/esxxtLg8qJ4 ...poor quality video, but you get the idea. this was 25 plus years ago. cat design & bare hull weights DO make a difference.

Steve used to be on here. He is an very talented designer and builder. Every boat was a one off. I felt smarter after just talking to him.
That M-11 ran so very flat. And flat is where it's at in an offshore cat.

there was also a 36 cheetah, that was powered with two regular Merc 200's, who's speed was well over 100 mph. if I posted the exact speed though, I would be ridiculed to no end, as it is unbelievable.

He was building them with a divinycell frame and skin, glassed over and faired. Then flipped and glassed, reinforced structure on the inside. Same with deck. Time consuming and tedious to say the least. This method allows the hulls to "evolve" and improve with each one produced.
