Just saw it on fox. Recount done on time (real close), but the witch didn't send in totals, and didn't know how? What a joke! More..
TALLAHASSEE — Amid a dizzying whir of legal action, questions over uncounted ballots and the failure of two South Florida counties to meet the deadline, a machine recount produced little change in the overall results to three statewide races Thursday.
Even so, the U.S. Senate and agriculture commissioner races are headed to manual recounts, results of which are due to the state by noon on Sunday. Certification of the official election results is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday.
In the governor’s race, the recount showed that Democrat Andrew Gillum trailed Republican Ron DeSantis by 33,683 votes, a net gain of 1 vote for Gillum from the unofficial results reported last week. The margin was 0.41 percent out of more than 8 million votes cast, outside the 0.25 percent threshold needed for a manual recount.
Although the lead appears insurmountable, Gillum would not concede and called for counting to continue. He stopped short, however, of filing a lawsuit to demand that.
“A vote denied is justice denied — the State of Florida must count every legally cast vote,” Gillum said. “As today’s unofficial reports and recent court proceedings make clear, there are tens of thousands of votes that have yet to be counted. We plan to do all we can to ensure that every voice is heard in this process.”
The machine recount in the Senate contest between Nelson and GOP Gov. Rick Scott saw Scott’s lead grow by 41 votes, to 12,603 overall. That’s a margin of 0.15 percent, enough for a manual recount.
Scott urged Nelson to forgo the hand recount and concede the race.
“Our state needs to move forward,” Scott said. “We need to put this election behind us, and it is time for Bill Nelson to respect the will of the voters and graciously bring this process to an end rather than proceed with yet another count of the votes – which will yield the same result, and bring more embarrassment to the state that we both love and have served.”

They need to do away with all early voting, absentee voting (except for members of the military), mail in ballots etc.... all of it makes it too confusing. Just provide more voting stations and make it a 2 day deal. Make all polling machines that caused problems illegal and keep all of it off the internet. Get rid of the obviously partisan elections officials (such as this B Snipes) and make their posts bi-partisan (one dem and one republican). Require photo ID to cast a vote and make those I.D.' double as a voter registration card that can be scanned when they vote. The answers are easy, but there are those in power that like confusion and an easy way to cheat.................

Yes, as Scotty on Star Trek once said " the more complicated the plumbing the easier it is to stop up the sink".... Our voting process needs an overhaul. Flabums ideas there are good ones.

You receive a voting card in the mail a few weeks in advance of the date. It has a voting schedule, early voting for a few days a couple weeks ahead of the actual voting day. Either way you present yourself with the card , which has name and address, you present the proper picture id with address DOB address etc. You're checked off the list, can't vote twice. You get a ballot, you fill the boxes with a mark, the ballot then is given to a rep who puts that ballot in a scanner and it's counted. Done, how can things go sideways?
Same basic method with telephone voting, ballot id# entered and you can't vote twice.Last edited by FMP; 11-15-2018 at 11:12 PM.
