Fuji, hope you don't mind me using your thread to get some information about the pictured 2-1 Pipe. I purchased this knowing that it was not complete and just bolted to a stock exhaust cover for a museum display. To begin with, this needs a T2 crank to get the firing order necessary to make this exhaust system work. Where do you get a T2 crank now days??? Not sure I'd have enough money to buy one if it did surface! Add to that that I'll need the exhaust plate and the filler blocks. The likelihood of finding all of this is probably zilch! Not sure what I'll do with it.

I'd really like to see some pictures of these exhaust systems posted here, and any comments about their use. I'd really like to see pictures of the exhaust filler blocks and cover/mounting plate.
    Thanks,
    Roger

If a Twister has a red cowl, it has no number. "Twister -1" designates the second version/first update. The Merc 500 went up to something like -24, but the first one was just a "Merc 500". When they made significant changes, the model changed to Merc 500-1; not designating first version, but first update. Same with Twister; Twister (red), Twister - 1 (blue). If it doesn't have a Speedmaster, its just parts.

    998 - Stacks On - Stacks Off?

I'm confused..........when 998 got repainted for it's studio photo shoot for an upcoming catalog printing, the engines (1350's?) were fitted shiny chrome stacks. Were the stacks in the catalog foto just for show or did 998 actually run with stacks at some point? (Pre-Twister)

My Burns - Sport J Floatin'

My Burns did very well in regional Sport J racing. The boat had the ability to kind of float around a turn (rather than my opponents who would stick right on the pins and bury their boats to turn). By the time they air'd out and were back on the throttle, I'd be 30% down the long leg of the track and ahead of them. By 3 laps (1 mile or 1 1/3 mile course) I would have a 1/2 lap lead in my Burns at the finish.

    Bill's 1970 winning Molinari did have stacks (1350 SBP's I think).
Bill's 1971 winning Molinari pictured here did not have stacks, it had the 'new' Twisters.
Bill's 1971 winning Molinari was driven by Jim Merton in 1970 to 2nd overall.

This magazine picture is from OWC 1970. Bill driving the winning Molinari and Merton coming in 2nd in the Molinari that Bill won with in 1971.
Poor picture quality but hope you can see the stacks on Bill's 1970 boat.
I have a framed poster at home that shows these 2 boats (and great drivers) from a different angle.

Top Image - Glastron Molinari (made from mold) Glass Moli's always had this "swept" look in the bow..........wood ones did not.
Btm Image - Wood Molinari (scratch built from pieces)
    Correct?
