This picture is from a small photo album of pictures taken at this race by Joe Swift. He put captions on all of them, put them in plastic sleeves and distributed the album to certain Mercury employees. Third from left is Emerson, not Stoney. I think the dude left of Seavey traveled with either Ken Ballou or Dick Sherrer, I just don't remember.

Just curious, did you know any of the guys in this picture?

'Spike' Burns I think mostly built hydroplanes but did build a few tunnels in the early 70's. His shop was near Port Perry / Lake Scugog in Ontario, Canada. He built a couple of SE boats (Tim Toole & Duanne Wight), an SJ boat that Francis Kinette drove in 1972 and did very well with, the U-class boat in the picture that Andre Savard drove and was very badly hurt in in (Picton 1973) and a T-class tunnel again driven by Savard (I think Oley Berkis set a T-class kilo record with this boat).
