You must have hacked into my text to the Professor tonight ... LOL I said the same thing , except I mentioned being "safe" first ...

By just their physical external dimensions , the 2.5 can is smaller and therefore lighter .
I think they ran one race earlier this year in Scott's boat with 2.5 mids and an earlier rendition of the adapter plates . Could have been last year ... time gets away from me ..
As Joe said , Lots of time and effort went into this project . And since you never really know how good you are until you go out and race what you have , apples against apples . They can't lose anything at this race , because win ,lose or draw they are not the type to lose the lesson no matter where they finish ...

It will be interesting to see if they got it right regarding the 2.5 mids and adaptor plate. Also keep in mind the boats have a minimum weight to meet regardless of rigging changes. From what I hear the changes they made should for sure help CG and make the boat more competitive and less flighty.
Gary Balough is still the boat beat. For around $12.00 you can watch all the races for 3 days on the SBI website.

Today was the first (long) run with the new exhaust tuners that Scott made up for the adapter plate. The first version was based off of the 280 tuner and proved not to make the power that the new ones do. They are now based off of the XS tuner. Scott and Nick ended up 2nd today with the loss of trim operation (due to a battery failure). The first leg to the outside was fun to watch with the 3 boats running so close.

The start was awesome. They shot out to the front but then you could see something changed and Gary got around them. Friday will be a good test with the bigger water predicted.

It would be nice to see someone give Gary some competition but it looked like to me he was either playing with those guys or had an issue at the start. After that he ran off and checked out.
It was not even close for either boat. Not sure what he has but he has something the others do not. I am sure they will figure it out!

I think those rails that Scott added are keeping the nose down with the rear getting aired up and the rough water helped them shine once they had the balance point figured out. Pretty cool that they only lost the little bit of ground that they did after the harbor turn mishap.
