I don't know if you can tell from the photos, but it is wide and looks good in person.

    hey Todd,
    just some curiosity questions:

Will this boat be available with stern drive as well as outboard power?
is the idea for this boat a single, or twin outboard set up?
is the depth or shape of the sponsons changing at all?

I know you might not want to reveal all your secrets (and I don't blame you a bit LOL) so if you don't want to say exactly, that's fine. I'm freakin' excited to see this thing!

I believe we will be able to install a stern drive. We plan on installing a full center pod under this boat, but have an insert that can go into the mold to make a smaller center pod (for single motors) or a full tunnel. So it will be available with 3 options for the bottom. My main focus in the mods I have done to this boat was the focus of the larger 4 strokes coming out and to be able to handle them. It will still do great with a single 300xs and be able ot handle twin 300xs. The depth of the sponsons at the apex will be deeper, but the back will remain close to the same. The sponsons will have some of the degrees taken out of them, flatter. I believe the newer sponson design will help eliminate some of the porpoising whether it is a flat tunnel or small pod in the back.

Like I told George, If these weigh and perform like I think they will my 24 skater and t3 will be forsale. A 1300lb 22ft boat with 600+Hp that will accelerate and turn like the t3 but still take a bit of "rough" water will be perfect.

The standard layup will be under 1300 lbs. for sure. The Talons are 1150 standard lay up, 1000 lbs light lay up and the lightest we built was 800. These will be around 1200-1250 standard layup.

That will work for me. Once I drive the first one I'm sure I'll be jumping ship.

Piqued my interest and have to ask - why a smaller center pod ? I thought the center pod is why the mvp's turn so well and lean in ? Is that correct and will the smaller pod do the same,
or is there another purpose for it ?
    Thanks

The small center pod is for the guys who want to utilize as much as the tunnel as they can, but not have the gearcase and prop totally exposed to the water coming down it, which is hard on gearcases and props.

A full tunnel boat is going to be the fastest, but with being the fastest, you will give up things like, the boat will have a little hop, it wont turn as nice as a full center pod boat, going to be harder on gearcases and props with a single engine application.

This hull will be very versatile with being able to have 3 different bottoms available and multiple engine choices. To be able to have a single 2 stroke or 4 stroke, twin 2 strokes or an inboard should make this an interesting little boat. I have the same plans with the 24 I have sitting here, but need to finish this project and a few new builds before I can get back on it. If the 22 works out as good as I am hoping for, than I will continue with the 24 which will be a 25 when complete.

Todd i don't know if you already answered this or not but I know the 21 skater transoms were curved. Skater made those flat pads on the back for twin applications. Are you gonna make the transom flat like a 24 or make those pads? If your making the "pads" where will the engine centerline end up?

Seems like All these wide cats seem to have very little blade in the tunnel and with 17" sponsons there's not much room to hide a 15" wheel. Just curious.

If i remember correctly trick transoms were all flat. Todd do you plan on putting a hatch like the 24s or seat on transom

It is flat like the trick, so whether mounting a single or twin will be easier. Thanks

It is about to be flipped over and the rest of the work performed. The boat itself was very twisted, so whether the original Skater is twisted, the plug boat was twisted, or the mold this one came out of was twisted. We have been playing hell getting it straight, but after 1000 lbs of lumber, some fiberglass, glue and screws, it is pretty straight now.
