Mercury 175 carburetor Jetting help
OK my situation is that I have a Merc 175 with WH 30s on it, I have the jetting chart I understand what it tells me to do for my elevation, above 5000 feet, my local Mercury dealer is totally confused, seems like he's more interested in selling me a new motor than getting the parts and looking for, my question is this , my main Jets at sea level to 2500 feet are 064 and 066 I need to drop those sizes by .004 and when they pull up my motor they're not listed, Will the jets from a mercury 135 with WH 38's Fit in my WH 30 carburetor are Jets common size with the exception of the orifice? Any help or suggestions would be great

If your local merc dealer isn't helpful just use the chart above to find the jets you need and order from boats.net! They were about $4.00 each the last ones I got IIRC...

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it, this is a great relief to me I was really starting to stress about it LOL, up for my maiden voyage after a core floor and transom and the only thing holding me up is the motor

I guess this goes on the same thread because it pertains to all my other questions, I've looked through multiple mercury service manuals and shop manuals I cannot find a listing for 175 with WH 30s on it, I can find one with the WH 29 and a WH 34, the Jack teen on the motor currently corresponds to what is listed for the WH 34, can anybody explain this to me ? Could be the difference between a 2.0 and a 2.4?

OK so I'm having a heckuva time still, I'm under the impression somebody swap the carburetors on this motor, I have a 1986 Merc 175 with a set of WH 30 carbs, the closest thing I can find, is a 1990 and newer mercury 175 with a set of WM 34s on it, my motor is currently set up with that exact same jetting , This is extremely frustrating as I am trying to change the jetting in my motor, trying to figure out if jets that are listed for a WME will fit in A wh, can anyone offer me more insight on this, my local Mercury dealer is totally frustrated and has signaled to me with his attitude that he really doesn't want to deal with these questions

I have a 1986 Merc 175 with a set of WH 30 carbs....
30's "were used" on tha chrome bore 175's.. use tha chart above ta buy whatever size ya want for 'em.
we tracked 'em down awhile back on micro fich (only place we could find 'em) but still didn't list jettin' size for them...
quit worrin' 'bout all these other things in ie: this carb or that carb, that hp or this hp and get on with it......

Sounds like you have the information on the right set up, did the van Jets need to be changed? Can't find that information either,
