i dont understand how the 28 cleaver was such a dog it would wind up on launch but hook in a boat length and pull im going to take my props to the shop tomorrow and hopefully a 28 or 30 re3 or yamaha drag will do me right im on the fence about a 32 but the stv guys are turning smaller props faster
I have a nice 28 chopper in classifieds that's 14-1/4" that should work great if that motor is putting out the power it did when new

If i was hittin revlimit with a 28 why would the 30 be so dramatic a change that is 112 race fuel and i honestly think this little 2.4 is spittin 260 + on the hp and the hull is a light layup i see all theese allicats turnin that and more or the stv w a 200 spinnin a 34. Now whatcha thank about dat ?

This similar rig to yours claims 90+. You might PM him and ask for setup tips...

That 28 cleaver is running over 30% slip as 30% would be 72.8 at 7300. That tells us that either your set up has an issue or a clever is the wrong prop for that boat which I know works better with a round ear propeller. Have you verified tach and speedo are correct? When everything is right slip should be no more than 12 percent.

Yeah I figured that out Ron Hill was recommending the cleaver and everyone else said chopper or drag but he said at top speed the boat doesnt need bow lift and stern is more beneficial i bought a 30 et i will test tomorrow morning

So with the 30 drag prop I could only pull to 7000 RPM 80 miles an hour I'm really frustrated and I don't know what else is causing me to not see good numbers that's still like 20% slip I have been talking to a few people can I have some aluminum plates on the bottom of my boat that I believe could be causing too much drag or making the boat not work right it turns on a dime the aluminum Runners are 8th inch thick by about three inches and they run for about three feet from the back of the hole at the transom forward any recommendations or advice would be appreciated I'm about to unbolt these things I should be seeing less slip and more speed

Ive thrown a dog out and shoked quite a few people when i shut down and turn ill say that ... They're level with the center pad so i assumed they would pack more air and lift more , there has to be no more than 10" or less in the water at full speed, but a gentleman I was talking a gentleman I was talking to you about my setup said he put turning Skaggs on the bottom of his boat and he lost three to six miles per hour.. so I'm losing 20!!

The downside to removing them is bolts countersunk into the hull every 6 inches for three feet and then I'm going to have to fill all of them and seems like a p.i.t.a!!
