Could be Phill, was certainly an HYN number plate-------would need to see it in the flesh ------Barry had two of them, identical apart from the number plate.
I actually reached 100 mph in that rig-------with a boat hung on the back, trying to get to Dover before the ferry sailed. We were on our way to Amsterdam.
Those were the "HALCYON" days of powerboat racing !

Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement
I had a fun weekend with an OLD friend that recently retired (boat racer?)---A little fun on some two lane roads in the beautiful Rockies---a car and airplane show at the Eagle airport--and a car display and wonderful lunch in 'Downtown' Vail---

Me three-----DONTCHA just love those "Porkies"
looking at one last tour of the USA ------Niagara down to Florida, maybe take in the Carolinas and Tennessee-----will bring her who shall be obeyed------east coast is not prepared for just me.
The all metal effort is the one I never could get right------could be anything Mc Call, goat, it covers most oddities-------no prizes for guessing what the woody is------had another of those mad fits of depression I get from time to time.

try buying metric hole saws, China has decided to just put the metric number on imperial ones
Very hard to find a 50mm
I do remember the one win the UK had in the eu was to be allowed to serve a pint measure.Last edited by powerabout; 09-13-2016 at 09:31 PM.

Who's the stupid ones Pilgrim, the Chinks or us ? Two mill difference 48/50 not even a gnats cod-----we'd better get over it before it becomes an international issue----------apart from me and thee, I don't know of a single individual who gives a flying fart !
Nobody told the average English pub goer that he would have had two more quaffs if he'd have gone metric and settled for half a litre instead of a pint-------and yet we thought it was a win ?
No doubt about it Pilgrim----------we're a funny old lot in England !

Made a a steering system for this thing------could have made the real McCoy in the time it took me to fiddle fart a mini one-------original Merc steering bars were a thing of beauty and strength-------was tempted to bo the pulley inserts but I've spent enough time on this concept already!
Found some cracking Brazilian mahogany for the sponsons and a Burmese teak centre section------the old spokeshave just glides over good timber-------pity iits going to have to be painted !
Grandson Craig and his wife Jess are over here for a visit-------today's his birthday, so I'm taking him and Simon , (another grandson ) out for lunch in Littlehampton.
Big birthday bash at the "Titch," (it's a pub in Loxwood called "Sir Roger Titchbourne") on Saturday night, bet there's some sore heads Sunday morning!
Whatdya know, it's Thursday again ! Car boot day, talk later!

Another of the niggling little privileges we always took for granted-------I didn't want a feckin red passport , I was content with what I had.
supposed to be low nineties today-----blame it on global warming, it gets blamed for most things, like potholes, septacemia and the train being late.

Why would I worry--------you can bet your sweet bippy that Teresa May has screwed the last ounce out of both China and France---------so, it's going to cost more--------it won't come on line for another five years-------by that time a Big Mac and fries will be $25---------and a gallon of gas will be $12.
Went round Arundel Castle with my grandkids today---------second biggest castle in England -------Windsor being the biggie. It's the home of Catholicism --------Duke of Norfolk is second only to the pope, so he does have a fair amount of "Clout"
Went to the Titch tonight to have a steak and chips dinner, you got a pint of ale thrown in for good measure. I was knackered before I left, had to pass on the steak. Body tells me it's slumber time, talk tomorrow .J.
