I met Mr Dave at the Allison rally last yr, didn't know him from Adam, we we talking about my Ally, and he crawled right underneath in the gravel and water to check my pad, gave me sound advice and offered help to fix it, since then I kinda keep up with him on the forums and have never heard one problem about him, stand up great guy it's a shame people mistake kindness for weakness, good luck Mr Dave, thanks for your insight on our passion for speed. Pete

Missed you this year Pappa Pete. Not as many boats at the Rally but still a good time. I went down three times. I can't hang with the All-Americans all week!!! There are some professionals that show up that go daylight to dark every day.

I remember that quote, too. But I have forgotten whom it came from.

Look, guys, Bill Gohr has been screwing people on S&F for as long as S&F has been around, and I would be deeply surprised if he was not screwing people for decades before that.

He was helpful to someone I bought something from, so I, too, can testify that he does not screw everyone all the time.

He does screw a lot of people a lot of times, though.

If your daddy is a former lover of his, you aunt is married to his brother, you live next door, etc, it may be safe to deal with him. But why would you when there are lots of decent people who can build a strong engine?

If your ever on the Chain O Lakes in Illinois, bring up his name and see the reactions you get. We all know him for what he is. I know dozens of people he has screwed over the years. He is what he is.

Not sure its worth a comment or not as I don't do much business on here anymore, but either myself or father has had dealings with both (Gohr and Dave) and will only continue with one of them (Dave). Not going to get into detail but Dave bought our Allison XTB a few years ago and was up front and honest, very prompt with the business end of it and a pleasure to deal with.

Hope the old XTB is treating you right Dave, it looks fantastic after you got done with it!

Likewise Greg. The old girl just needed some TLC. Very well represented in your dad's advertisement. I spent a few weeks sanding and buffing, bottom and top. Did it for my fishing buddy. No charge. Found him the nice 225 ProMax for it too. He took it to Allison and they replaced everything on the boat but the carpet. Everything!!. He decided he wanted a new XB21 and I got all my hard work back +++++++. Just built a new lexan windshield for it. She is a fine cruising boat. Getting ready to put a 15" 3.0Liter 250XS on her. Hope to have it by the Jasper River Run.
