she is bought and paid for...let the good times begin...

Just went and picked her up yesterday and I am glad I stumbled on this deal...I have missed the water since I got rid of my Tige several years back. After a little bit of effort to get her running once she had some time to idle she ran like a top. I havent ever owned a outboard,...open to any and all suggestions.

I only have what little bit of information on it from where I bought it and what I have found on a couple sites (including this, which there isnt much info). I purchased it from a dealer in Greencove (Captain Ken's) and he still has it up on his site.. http://www.captainkensboats.com/Boat-Inventory.html

When searching I stumbled on this link, keep in mind I had already purchased it from the above dealer. I found this link just trying to find information on Borum boats via Google. http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...T%29-102115516 I noticed they had it listed for a few thousand more. I attempted to call them and the lady sounded surprise they still had it listed and proceeded to tell me it was with someone else...and she gave me the number. It was not the dealer I purchased it from. From what she told me it was caught up in some kind of trust thing, yada yada yada.

Anyways...you dont find much info on these boats by just Googling it...and like I stated any information, comments or suggestions are welcome.

I am just stoked to have a boat again...lol

    (edited to fix link)

congrats and welcome to the board! Borum's were truly a Jax boat as they were built at a shop on main street north of 20th st expressway up near where the mercury dealer at the time owned by Bob Terry (legendary hooligan) had his shop that is now, or was until lately, jax bargan plywood. his nick name was "Bobcat", once had his mercury dealership pulled from him when he cut off in a race Carl Kiekhafer's son. he started selling jet boats when they were the rage a brand known as Taylor, they made 2 models, the ss and the sj, they used the same stainless steel logo's that were used on chevy and Pontiac auto's for the chevell and grand prix at the time, ss and sj. I belive that hull was a copy of the Taylor jet boat. the year is about right. anyway, great find, I thought that picture looked like black creek boat ramp, and when you added greencove I knew I was close. fun out

Give it good fresh gas and oil, keep a good water pump in it and enjoy the hell out of it.

    Thnks all!

yeah I am use to getting super unleaded since I drive a sports car...guess my next purchase is a truck! spent some time cleaning her up today and it's nice to have a boat in great condition!

My only real concern is getting caught out in the rain with no top and I want to pit
some smaller swim platforms on each side of the motor for challenged people.
