I see the number 86. What lower unit did JC start with for you to make this artwork?

Have you ever tried a Torquemaster without a cone? Wonder how many mph they are good for before blowing out.

That's what I was running previously,I was on the fence about it blowing out and figured 83.5 was pushing its limits. This is a 300xs torquemaster lower I had Jc do.

I was able to get today for a quick run.I wanted to get some of the gas out yesterday but we had 40mph winds so I wasn't able to.I went out today with 50 gallons of fuel so I wasn't to optimistic. The boat drives much smoother with the Jc cone and the 1.75 gears are far better for a hull this heavy.I was running as high as I could go on the jackplate and wasn't able to get it high enough. The lake is about a mile long all together so its about a 1/2 mile you to get your speed numbers Today the lake was like glass and not a good judge of speed for the hull,it runs far better when a bit rough.I did see 82mph which is the fastest its ever done with a full tank.I need to raise the motor and find a larger prop the 25 txp just isn't enough.I sold the 27 tempest I had before so I need to find another.I think with the motor raised/more pitch/lless fuel and water that's not glass mid 80s will be there fairly easy.I will say hands down this lower feel a lot safer over 80 then the non coned torquemaster.

Sound pretty promising Aaron. You think it handles better than the Sportmaster too?

Absolutely handles better then a sporty.Hard to explain it really,it just feels smoother.I probably wont be able to get out for another 2 weeks. The wife wants to head up to her family cabin with a few friends for her birthday. So I will be playing on 75 acres and doing a lot of shooting, not much boating up in the mountains.I need to measure how it will go as of now and determine how many holes I need to go up.Im back 12"+ the factory notch.I know that being further back I can run a bit higher.Im thinking Id like to be able to at least up to even with the pad,not that ill run it that high but atleast be able to.I also need to add a bit of filler to the last couple inches of the pad because it tapers off a bit.Id like to be able to pull a 27p to 6300-6400 when all said and done.Im currently at about .07% slip so I think that's about as good as its gonna get as far as that goes.Just need a bit more prop.

Found what I believe should be the rite prop.It should be here next week sometime so hopefully the weather will cooperate.I like a bit of sloppy water but when its gale warnings and 40mph gusts its not the best water to burn some fuel.I can sell the wife on a lunch date on the Seattle waterfront just as long as it isn't to nasty.Weather has been odd for sure one dy wind like crazy, next day not a ripple on the lake I test on.

Good luck with the new prop. Maybe it will be even faster than you think.

Didn't get a chance to run it this weekend. With the holiday the prop was sent out 2 days later then I had hoped, however the winds were having right now would not be the best for speeds.Greg G I think im neering the top of the speeds with a outboard on this hull.It would be faster if its lighter for sure but all my numbers I put up are with full interior.Basically have the family hop out and hammer down.I wouldn't mind trying to build a lighter rear seat and possible newer lighter front buckets. However we've been trying to buy our dream house on a lake for about 5mos now and it still isn't closed.Just waiting on one more family member to sign off and were good to go.Then I will be able to prop test from my own dock.

Aaron doesn't have to worry much about winter, at least not like the rest of us that get real snow and ice that lasts for wHile.

Sounds like you are getting the most of it Aaron.
