Renato Molinari a pioneer in F1 boat racing and boat building.

Started in singles like most all of us, and took to being fast with dual engines too
    .

And, I personally witnessed some of his designs and racing achievements.

Water Ski Racing is fast behind 20-foot boats.

However, Water Ski Racing on the Ocean to Win, is being pulled by 40-foot boats.

Catalina Ski Race from Long Beach, CA to Catalina Island and back (approx. 62 miles) is the prestigious race. With a lot of Aussie Skiers coming to the Long Beach, to get pulled in the race. The annual July race just happen.

Here is one of the better videos of a previous Race. The late Greg Foster (F1 driver) is in the video.

Sharpened it up a bit - the old Deltox building in the left front corner, Merc made cowls there, sanding, buffing, dirty fricken jobs. Is that a line of wings in the right corner? I see racing's building with the round windows. Plant 33 would come to be where those boats are parked.Click image for larger version.

Lets all take a moment to wish Willabee a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It has been a hard year for Bill after losing his brother Rick back in May. As many of us know, it is never easy loosing a sibling. His in depth knowledge of powerboat racing in the good old days is immense. His dedication in developing this thread along with "Hot Singles" is commendable along with the fact that all power, be it Mercury, OMC or Chrysler was welcome. If you go back and read some of his accounts of the races, you will see that he makes you feel like you are sitting on the shore watching. He has a gift to be able to paint an image with his words. I hope that all of you will click on a "Thanks" or a "Likes" or both to acknowledge Willabee and the legacy of powerboat racing that he has given us all..

Thank you...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...
