    300x pistons T2 versus T9 Pistons

Hey guys looking for some info on pistons, looks like my 300x will need a set of pistons, orginal part is the T9, per piston set NZ$685 , but the T2 for one piston set is $260 quite a huge difference.
Does anyone know what the difference between the pistons are ( gold plating?? ) or is it simply a case of racing versus fishing motors same thing different use??

    These would work....

    http://www.rickracers.com/product_in...roducts_id=675

The new part number is 7000PV or 7000SV (port and starboard), price for S&F members is $95 each + shipping, comes with rings, wristpin, and circlips. This is a hypereutectic cast Vertex piston with grey moly coating. Let us know if we can help.

I would assume 1 set(the more expensive) is hyperutectic or forged and the cheaper set is std cast....i would buy the vertex or promarine pistons or wiescos over merc parts.. merc parts are to costly for what ya get..

Thanks guys for your comments. It is quite interesting finding out about the different materials used within the engines.
I have been onto your web site Rick and have registered. After christmas we will pull the engine down, then you will definately be hearing from me to place my order.
I suppose the next thing , what other goodies will I need ?

    Cheers
