Historical clarification, thanks to Odell Lewis.

I contacted Terri (Odell's oldest daughter) and asked her to ask Odell about MercRover.
And this is Terri's response to my question.

"Dad drove the MercRover in Paris 1966. Johnny Bakos was to drive after him,
but dad ran over something in the water and it put a hole in the side of the boat.
Dad got it to the sea wall, jumped out and the boat sank.

It was never at Lake X, it was in Fond du Lac. It had a “Rover” turbine.
That’s Odell with his back to the camera in the picture you posted."

I am not certain of the year, when the racing fraternity knew, from this day on that you needed power-trim to compete for a race win.
Many of you remember times like this. Hard to get on plane, especially with a full fuel tank.

Thank you Power Trim, for eliminating the old school way.

The new kid on the block, apparently is going to eventually replace the race circuit engines we grew-up with.

I assembled a generational family portrait.

Fun times in the pits .....

Well, since it's pretty quiet on S&F, now might be a good time to make your wives and girlfriends happy. One sure way to accomplish that is to share some of these pics of boat racing's 'Robert Redford' with them .....

Be careful about racers wives and/or girlfriends. You never know how that might have turned out.

The real Robert Redford in one of his best movies - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Paul Newman played alongside Robert Redford in a couple of buddy movies. And being Willabee Redford has suggested himself an equivalent to Robert, on the shores of outboard racing, I would like to put forward some cohort names.

Here are some honorable mention guys, which would represent outboard racing, visually favorably, on Hollywood’s big screen as film buddies with Redford.
