Offshore racing in Finland in the seventies.
    Argo/Twister 2
There was a similar engine in Sweden also for Offshore.

That gearcase set up answers a question I had..........no way an SSM would hold up for very long in offshore? In 2nd photo there's a cable looped towards the mid. It was either a trim angle indicator or somehow rigged for shifting?

You must have shifting..so the gear-case did have reverse.

I would imagine that the BP gearcase lived a lot longer under a 66in powerhead.

Another Offshore Argo in Finland. This one with a Johnson Stinger GP and a GT-115 gear-case with reverse.

    Monday Morning .....

Woke up today and didn't feel any different than I did last Monday ..... bummer. I remember that for years I'd wake up on "this" Monday feeling pretty much exhausted. When I looked in the mirror, my face would be burnt and my arms would have that familiar 'farmers tan'. It hurt a little to raise them to shampoo all the sand out of my hair. It took a week, including a particularly long Sunday, to get to this state, I was physically uncomfortable but mentally delighted, it was great! Sure do miss those days.

That's Mert behind the wheel. The T125 was 1969 with Boots Spellman co-driving, he wore goggles.

Everyone was fortunate that the desert races out west were Not in the summer.
If they were in the summer, then you would want to be in shorts, and your lily-white legs would get lobster-red during the weekend.
