Need water level report for Clinton Lake and Lake Shelbyville in central IL

Anyone know what the water levels have been doing on these two lakes? I'm heading to one of them next weekend to hunt some 3 liter powered Rangers. I've heard that part of the state has had an even worse drought than northern IL. I believe Shelbyville has more obstructions so I would get a map before I hit the water. The problem areas on Clinton I pretty much know about and I have a map of that lake. Mainly wanting to know if there are any abnormal or extreme hazards due to water levels and if the ramps are still useable. The water levels could be normal for all I know, not sure what the inflow is like. Anyone know anything?

I thought there were one or two spots with a sunken hump or rocks or something in the middle of the lake?

I found the site with the lake levels, looks like it's down about 2 feet from normal. Not bad for a man-made lake this time of year.

You will like it. Been down there with Jeff several times. High speed runs should be early morning cause it can get pretty choppy on the main lake.

    Shelbyville

Sounds good. I was there once in 1989 and never really left Eagle Creek in the rowboat. Been wanting to go back ever since. The launch facilities at Wolf Creek and Eagle Creek both suck, that much I know. Drove through both of them when I was a student at EIU. Thinking of Sullivan Marina or Bo Wood rec area. I don't know what Bo Wood is like though. Pictures of Sullivan look like it's first rate.

    My Neck of the Woods

    Ron

Heck give me a call, I only live 15 miles from Shelbyville. The Lake is in good shape, just stay away from the points. I have an extra room if you need a place to stay. I Might even be able to go out and run on Sat in the morning. I have plans in the afternoon.

    Give me a call

    Rob

Rob, that would be great, I'll let you know. Not sure exactly when I'll be arriving though, might not get there until midday Saturday. I'm planning on leaving Friday morning and being down there in the afternoon, but I might not leave here until Saturday. Have to see how the week goes. I'll give you a call sometime this week if I get a chance.

Go Shelbyville, Clinton is to small for serious running. Shelbyville is about 1' under summer pool, stay in the middle and you will be alright. STAY in the channel markers up in the north end, they are right up on the shore, but thats the old creek bed. There is a floating bar that has food and plenty of dock space. Party cove is about 2mi south of the Findly Marina on the east side... Swing far to the south and stay on the east bank going in ( watch the other boats ) there is a sand bar that runs about 150yds at the north west entrance. I think it is point #5, Rob will know. I wish I wasnt going to Talladega this weekend or I would be there. We have boating at Morris on the IL river alot this year, alot of nice boats. The weekend after this one, thats where I will be . A couple of us will be there Merc hunting.

    V8

V8 you sound like you know the lake pretty well. Any B.S. with cops or local laws that I need to know about? I was at Clinton last year and never saw a cop. It was a good time, excellent campground and "enough" room, but I'm definitely wanting to check out Shelbyville now that I've got the power to cover the ground.
