55hp for $150 isn't a bad deal but how much trouble is it to put it on? You would have to have a new exhaust system wouldn't you? or atleast new to the mufflers? Do you have to deal with any emissions where you live? Turbos are cool and if you could make it more efficient by having the heads cleaned up and maybe a cam swap you would make even more power

nope.save the $150 and headaches. The 301 was still a turd(no offense)with the turbo and believe it or not,the added power was really too much for it.I believe pontiac did a way with a main journal on that engine compared to the more traditional 326-350-400- etc.The carbs used on those turbo 301's was just not good enough to keep proper air fuel ratio and even with premium they spark knocked like a mofo

Throw in a carbed 350. It will take you an afternoon, and the sbc has a huge amount of aftermarket support. I beleive they only used that 301 turbo in a car for one year, what does that tell ya

maybe to the stand, but i could use a set of hands to help me move my furniture into the new party pad.there will of course be free food(steaks and tails maybe) and lots of booze.I can't promise, but i think there will be some chics over later in the day,so maybe a pool party will break out? i am moving 95% of the stuff over this week and just need a hand for the few larger items on saturday.now i better stop hijacking this thread lol definately try to keep it all pontiac powered, especially if you have a 400 to work with.get those new edelbrock heads for the 400 and it can't help but make at least 400 hp
