I am looking for a recommendation for a gelcoat refinisher in the NJ or LI area. Anybody know somebody? Thanks

You may want to do a search on the post Stvhelm did (Helmut) about yellowing white gelcoat, if I remember correctly he used muratic acid and it brought the white gelcoat back like new...don't get it near aluminum (jackplate and trim)

If you find you need repair, try Gelcoat Joe on LI. He's a member here.

It seemed to work the best but it took a lot of sanding to lighten the hull but still not as white as where the numbers were so I stopped for now.
I would have thought it was supose to be off white if I hadn't removed my numbers and the old original pinstripe

I'm not sure if it's available to you guys but there is a product called Y 10 that desolves yellow stains from gelcoat, it's blue jelly like stuff that you brush over the stain and it just disappears then wash off the residue with a hose. It's made here in Ireland so it';s probably not available over there! If you're stuck let me know and I can sort you out.
