What's the part number on your prop? You're not missing the bronze aft piece, are you? Maybe your washer is worn out. How thick is it?

This is the same prop with the bronze tab ring installed. It has a spline-cut inner diameter, it fits into the end of the hub, and meshes onto the propshaft spline. You can see where the hub spline and the bronze part come together.

Do NOT run an A5 without this piece.

Also, What Would Be The Harm in Running It With Out One? I Have A Spacer That Fits Tight On The Shaft. It Would be For Test Purposes Only. If The Prop Worked I Would Get The Proper Fiting.

    There would be no harm

I usually run my props with a standard washer on the end, and just make sure the nut is tightened to proper specs, maybe a touch more, because they now have a greater chance of loosening and back off the shaft. And your nice prop now is at the bottom of the lake. I check my prop everytime I run it, and sometimes when running to make sure there is no play between the prop and nut. Soon as it gets loose it does not take a whole lot of holeshots to keep it losening and the nut falling off. Spacing the prop on the back with another thrust washer is also not a bad thing to do, so your prop is running farthur at the end, but it all depends on what boat and prop combo your running. Make sure there is at least 1 turn on the nut and you can see some threads out the end of the nut.

    Question

Does anyone have a part number for this? Where can I get a couple?

What about if you wanted to drill one out for OMC? Do you still need the bronze piece?

The bad news is: I have several of those inserts in my tool box, along with the tabbed washer and nyloc nuts. I just never thought to send it with. by the time I sent this prop, I had been running OMC for a few years and forgot that there was another piece.
