Removing Licence #s from Hull question.
What is the best way to get these off? I have a white hull - Vking.
The dick who stole my boat put some false #s on the side, now that I have it back I want to take them off and put my ligit #s on it.
Anyway to do this without scratching or damaging my baby's hull?
Also, where can I get some nice numbers in the Toronto area? Looking for some red ones. Maybe with black outline.
Cheers.

"Goof Off" works for removing the numbers and won't dammage gelcoat. You can get it at CTC.
Any sign shop should be able to make you a set of custom numbers, any color or style for well under $100. Simple designs are around $40.
Mine are gold metallic with a black background and they were around $40 for the set.Last edited by chris_lacey; 04-21-2005 at 09:39 AM.

Yea its the mega mall one. I'd heat em up with a hairdryer, and slowly peel em off. Then use any of the sticker removers for left over goo. I use "goo gone" from Home Depot, and have never had it damaged the finish.

I second the heat gun. Just don't get it too hot just enough to soften the glue and sticker. I used tylouene on the glue, but my boat is gelcoat.
