Viking Seat Base

I am rebuilding the seat bases in my V-king. Simple question, how are the old ones attached? Are they just glassed in? Have not started a thing yet thought I would ask.

When I did my VIKING floor I glssed a piece of 3/4 in to the floor where my seats go. The trick way to do it is pre-drill those 3/4 in pieces to except brass threaded inserts, so you can bolt your seats down instead of screwing them. It is more work but alot stronger and you don't hve to worry about the wood wrotting as long as you epoxy the wood then screw your brass inserts in while it is still wet. If you use an adjustable sliding plat you will only need to remove 4 bolts then to take your seats out if you need room to work under your dash or somthing. It takes awhile but is worth it when your done.

RSM, thats a good one, thanks. Also how did you do the carpet over the seat pad area? It looks very neat, no creases or anything.
