    1990 V-6 Merc

1990 was the first year the 2.5's began to show up and the first were 14 petal reed models with bottom guide rods and pistons. There were also some 2.4's built that same year. The 2.4's were chrome bores and the 2.5's were steel. The 2.5 was way better than the 2.4 . Both weighed in at around 400 lbs. I suggest you get the serial # from the round disc located on the top of the block and have a dealer run it to be sure what you have. Otherwise you need a very experienced person to look for the differences.
