200 merc power head swap for bigger

I have never done this before so I need to know if it is possible. On a 94' style 2.5 200hp Merc can I make that a 2.5 280 hp by a power head swap with work?

Yes. BASICALLY, all 2, 2.4, and 2.5 Merc stuff interchages. (Key word: basically) You might have to make a change in the exhaust plate. I don't know what the openings look like in a 94 model engine, but there're a lot of people on this board who do....................... I guess they're all sleepin'.

Obviously there'll be other issues, like fuel pump & return line, cowl (280 uses the alternator that requires a fat cowl) etc.
