The 250, 250 HP (187 kw) @ 5150 RPM, is it more HP at higher RPMs? The rec. Rpms are 4500 to 5800 rpms! I believe their 225 HO puts out 246 HP!

LMAO
Get a grip!
The Verado is aN oversize lobster compaired to the Etec!
Pay attention everyone... One power pulse per cylinder per revolution...
The 2 stroke will always win power to weight and with the new Tec.. The ETec 2stroke Will win the sniffer and fuel Gulper tests.
It does suck merc has givven up on the light weigh powerfull 2 strokes.
Good news is BMC Evinrudes are coming to the rescue!2006 Action Marine Comp

Its just whats going on here in wisconsin. Not hard to figure out when its all right under your nose.
You can talk about the Optis all you want but they are on the way out.
Merc is all about 4 stokes now.
almost all of the good 2 stroke people are gone from Fondulac anyway.
Good luckLast edited by Laker; 02-07-2005 at 12:22 AM.

No No cowboy
you can figure it out.
They have a couple "New" (LMAO) motors coming out.
Technoligy THat has been on the merc table for 5++ years.
Every motor under 200hp has a 4 stroke alternative.
And now the 4 stroke 200s are out.
Go Figure.
Sorry to say But The flame is about out for the 2 stroke in fondulac…2006 Action Marine Comp

ETEC's Retro Cowl
IMO has very clean lines and looks COOL! Kinda has a retro look with the dipping on the sides of the cowl. I really like the front and side views. Below the cowl will take some getting used to. The Verado, well I still havent got used to its looks. Reminds me of the old Dig Dug video game and looks like its about to POP!
What gets me about the ETEC's are how "small" and compact they look considering they have 3.3L of displacement. They look more compact than the 3.3L Vmax HPDI's and the Ficht Rams they are replacing. I also think EVINRUDE did an awesome job on keeping the weight down. the 200/225HO ETECS (20") are only 509 lbs, thats lighter than the Ficht Rams (517) the Vmax HPDI (539) the SAME as the 3.1 Vmax EFI (509) and only 4 lbs more than the Merc 250xs. When you think about it 4 lbs aint squat when you consider that is a 3.3L vs a 3.0L This COULD also be showing a trend of the longer they improve the DFI (ETEC is 3rd generation) the lighter they are getting.Last edited by DarthVMAX; 02-07-2005 at 11:23 AM.
