    Speed record

In the near future, Daren Luhrs will attempt to break his speed record, for those of you who dont know who Daren is, he is T2x's son.
Yesterday Daren throttled a 28' Skater in excess of 100mph,
he will attempt the new record in Recoverys new 46' Skater, powered by twin 1600hp Sterlings.

OnboardCamera will be on hand to provide film footage of this event, and hopfully Scream and Fly will permit us to put this on this website.

    FYI

Last year Darren set a speed record for physically challenged people(Cerebral Palsy), throttling a 36 Nortech to a speed of 121.6 mph on a two way run............ This was held in conjunction with the annual "Shore Dreams for Kids" event held each year on Barnegat Bay in N.J.

This year he is going after another 20 mph.......Unfortunately one of the engines in Recovery needed "recovering" this past weekend so the attempt was postponed.

The 28 Skater makes a great practice hull for these attempts........., and we were out yesterday going through the paces. Darren has a lot of time on the sticks in my boat ...and the console/and throttles have been modified to move out of sight below the deck to allow him to be positioned in the the seat. After he's in....it comes back out to normal position. Thanks to the late Doug Lewis for this modification...and thanks to East Coast Marine for the current performance of the boat.

Below is a picture of Darren and Dave Patnaude of NJPPC after last year's run.

Dirk had the nicest (and my favorite) 28 Skater I've ever seen. It will be missed -- but --

I can't wait to see a pair of these:

    T2x,
numorous times, when you werent in your boat while it was being tested, and tested, and re- tested, I on most occasions was the the wingman, when your boat was brought up to max speed, I would tap the trim a little and watch your boat fall behind, way behind

I think you have me confused with someone else on L.I., you see I think Wingnut is that guy who is resurrecting some kind of winged thing over at East Coast marine
