Big Thanks to Randy @ GPI!!!
After having my 11 year old 2.5 rebuilt over this past winter. I have been given power that I never had before in the 5 years that I have had my boat. Thanks to Randys boat set-up and advice, my drag racing results have improved dramatically over last year...
Thank You for all your help.

Guys,
I agree with you all, Randy is the man. He works wonder swith the right set up and gets the best out of the motor and boat. He built a 2.5 for my heavy Cheetah F&S and it runs well.
thanks Randy, and well see you again.

Hole$hot ...
Your drag racing results have improved dramatically over last year. I will agree with that. Now ya just need to take a map along so you can find your way down the track and stay out of my lane !!!!!!!!!!! Just razz'in ya. I got a good up close and personal look at ya at about half track though.
Hat's off to RP and the GPI crew. Thanks for bringing me my new red toy Randy.

Chris, nice job at Little Falls. Randy definately has you screaming and flying. I don't think that anyone would argue that he is the man, and you are definately a 1/4 mile threat.

Yeah He's Great
I especially like the way he criticizes this board on another board. That's real classy...a real strait shooter, honest and upfront.
You did good. Removing the hook is the best thing you could do for that boat. Most of the stuff on S & F is wide of the mark. I find most of the reading there entertaining. There are some good threads and knowledgeable people but they are few and hard to find. Remember that good old fashioned hard work and simple set-up gives great returns. My opinion is there is too much "fantasy" expert help out there. Trust me, you are on the right track and I expect your boat will run better than the average Vulture.

Well, I honestly think I'm surprised to see that - especially coming from the IHR/GPI Racing! -- And believe me, it takes a lot to surprise me these days.
Thanks Randy.

Guys....I can't speak for Randy or to what specifically he meant but I wouldn't take it personally. Even though Greg puts on a great site he cannot control the information given in every post.
You have to admit there are a lot of "internet experts" out there more than willing to give unqualified advice. I personally have recieved set up advice about my allison from members of this board that have never even seen a Pad Vee boat let alone a Grand Sport.
Again, I wouldn't read too much into that statement...I'm a proud S&F member and I wasn't offended by it.

Bill, I agree what you say - to a point. You know what? I sure am offended. Why even make public statements like that?
This is a community - and people offer advice and opinions, etc. There is nothing here that states everyone is a qualified expert. You'll get good or bad advice wherever you go. Good or bad, it's the opinions of the community.
I think this is a fantastic community of boaters, but that's my opinion.

Hey Skywagon
Why do you always have to be reasonable? That is a FN BS oipen ended statement he made.

I would hope that no offense would be taken by that post. Randy is an expert and is one of the people out there that could make that statement and should be left alone. I do not know him and have never meet him but look at his accomplishments and they speak for themselves. Any board that has this much activity is going to have A LOT of junk on it. On the most part this is great forum and I enjoy it.

Oh Ok
Instead of bashing the entire community a real expert would have said.....I disagree with leaving the boat as Pipkorn built it because this, that and the other thing. Not because I said so and S&F is full of bad info. He's guilty of what he accused this community of.

Most people who know me also know that I rarely comment on this stuff, but I am very proud of this community. It's a matter of professionalism. Randy's statements were only meant to publically denegrate this forum. That's what bothers me. Like David said, it was not relevant to answering the question. What other purpose could it have served?
And since when is this a "tech only" forum? This is a place to have fun and communicate. A lot has been accomplished here through friendships, fund raisers, events, and yes, good tech advice. Must this forum be judged by boat setup advice alone? This forum is home to the best qualified high performance boaters in the world. But that' just part of what makes this forum great. It's the interaction between members that are here to have fun and enjoy the sport.
I guess I really care about the people we have here.
