Boat info
Which year and length Daytona do you have? What engine(s) are powering it? What is the current speed and rpm - with which prop?

I don't know of an owners forum other than the one on offshoreonly.
I do own one though. A 2000 25 with a warmed up 500efi and a blackhawk drive.Airpacker

Daytona
The boat is an 82, 19'. I just bought it and am picking it up this week. I am looking for set-up info. I have a fairly well ported 2.5 with 3 litre carbs. Don't know the horsepower. plan on a 28 chopper that Mazco reworked. This prop has worked better than any prop I have tried on both my Hydrostreams and STV. The boat is supposedly a very light lay-up and has center steering. Unless I find out different, I suppose I will set it up about like my STV. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

MOTOR WILL NEED TO BE MUCH HIGHER THAN ON AN STV.I HAVE OWNED A 19 DAYTONA AND A 19 EURO AND SET UP IS VERY DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE TWO.PROPING ON THE OTHER HAND IS ALMOST THE SAME.DAYTONAS LIKE A HIGHER ENGINE HEIGHT FOR SPEED.A HYDRAULIC JACK PLATE WITH ABOUT SIX INCHES OF SET BACK WOULD BE IDEAL.

The center pod is not notched. You need set back. Hopefully it has a bracket with about 6" or more of set back. I would then put a jack plate with an additional 5" - 6" of setback on it.

set up
Thanks for the help guys. I am not sure of the dimensions but it looks like maybe an 8 or 10 inch set back and then a hydraulic jack plate. It will have to do for now whatever it is. I was told this boat gps at 92 with a 200 merc. Does that sound realistic? I was told this boat is a light lay-up but I have also heard these boats are somewhat heavy compared to an STV. Any comments?

That looks like a lot a setback for a 19. Mine is a heavy lay up and I am running less than that. The Daytona has a lot of lift and it gets real light over 90. I have to trim in a little to keep it on the water.

Thanks for info and advice. I am picking boat up Wednesday. Finished up motor tonight. Hope to be wet by Friday or Saturday. I am sure I'll have more questions next week. As always, thanks for the help.
