    bristol pics

    Hi Jeremy
MANY MANY THANKS FOR THOSE PICS
their just what i was looking for.
the transom spoiler in the middle where the outboard goes has been butchered by some one and i need to replecate it.
    those pics help out .
would be nice to see an under side pic at the rear if you have any.
and any other pics like those you posted when you have time.
I just love the lines of the x1v boat and the fore deck bulge
heres a couple more pics ive been stripping the many layers of paint off back to the original gel coat colours of white and orange.

you can see she has two drain plugs that i dont think are original as their too high up i would have thought there would be one in the middle at the bottom.
any help in this area would be well appreciated along with pics.

    Gazzer,

I see what you mean it does look a bit butchered. i've had a look through and i don't have any pics of the underside in this album but if i find one in the rest of the stack then i'll get it scanned in. The pictures i scanned have been resized to upload them so if you want i can send better quality ones direct to you. The drain plugs look to be in the right place but they would have been the rubber self opening ones as opposed to the screw in plugs. I've attached some enlarged pics of that area.

    Hi Gazzer,

The Bristol in the pic below was restored by a member of the CMBA (Classic Motor Boat Association) 2 or 3 years ago. I don't know the individual personally but do know other members who may be able to put you in touch if you are interested.
Not sure how much work was required on his project compared with yours, just thought it might be worth seeing if he was willing to offer some kindly advice to someone with a similar project.

    Bristol X1V

    Hi Minto
many thanks for the info and pic.
I am busy on another project or tho i keep doing a little bit to the Bristol when i get time.
the transome is shot to bits hence why its not been restored by the previous owners.
I will sort it in time.
