What do you mean the boat wants to "stand up when taknig off at low speeds"? Do you mean it wants to come off of plane and the nose starts to rise? What speed does it do this at? Any more details would be great. As far as the bilge pump goes, it sounds like you just need to fix it

How many people do you have on the boat? If you've got it loaded down with people, the nose is probably going to stand up pretty high until you plane off. Maybe try one of those hydrofoils that goes on the cavitation plate on the motor.

If I'm not mistaken, thats what happens when you accelerate in a boat, especially outboard from a standing start, especially a small boat with a big outboard on the back, bow rise happens, stick people as far forward as possible to try to remedy it.

When Skiiing I put weight in the bow, cooler, extra gas, etc. also looking at your picture, how high is the ski pole? mine is just high enough to clear the motor. On one of my boats I put the battery in the front also to help get on plane quicker.

PLANEING
I had a Vector with a mod OMC V6 that went way high at the launch. I tried to pull a skiier [for the first time] from the removable ski pole that came mounted just behind the front seats. The nose was lifted straight up and the boat did a barrel roll, taking on a bunch of water. The ropes pull, pulled the bow staraight up and torque rolled it over. I ,then, had a custom bar built to fit into the splashwell and pull from a point right above the engine cowling, so I had no bow lift. I even pulled parasails with it afterwards. My GS has a built in pylon just behind the rear seats and it still lifts the bow more than I would like...

thanks for the advice
was looking into puting "smart tabs"&a hydrofoil on cav plate on motor has anyone had experience with these??
boat does 72 mph(118kmh) on tke gps with a 28 4 blader
thought that the tabs might help with the chine walk that comes through at 60 +any ideas
would a jack plate be of heelp or not required onthis size hull approx 17.5 ft

A jackplate will help with the topspeed and also allow you to drop the motor down to get good bite for skiing. The chinewalking you are seeing is most likely the product of the motor being too low, raising the motor will help and the added setback of most jack plates will also help in balancing the hull at speed. Getting the motor higher will help, it appears the bullet has a very shallow hull. I am no expert... but you may be able to get transom wedges... to allow you to 'tuck in' the engine more for a flatter take off, any ideas from the experts???

Jackplate
Unless you are running a 15inch mid section you will need a jack plate. I don't think i have seen any 1750's without them. I would expect one set up with a 200 to do a little better than 72MPh if set up is right.
The chine walk is a feature of bullets and you will just have to learn to drive through it athough good set up will help you handle this. Cabels on your wing steering should be as tight as possible without jamming the steering.

I just made my own out of angle aluminum but you could try Fish City or Rollos Marine, both in Hamilton.
If you are thinking of putting a petrol tank in the bow , I wouldn't. You will upset the ballance of the boat if you remove the weight from the back. You could put a ballast tanks in the front. I run one whick holds about 30 Ltrs. I can pick up or dump water while running. This improves the rough water handling and helps hold the boat on plane at slow speeds for skiing.
