    Cool My notes say

Counter Clockwise is rich and 1/2 turn is 2 numbers. You may want to call Sean at Rapair to verify. I believe some of the early boxes could be either direction so its much better to have a tester. If you are not sure, try turning it 2 numbers and see if you can get it to 4 stroke. If not then go 4 numbers the opp way ( back to where you were plus 2 the opp way) and see if it will 4 stroke. You can determine which direction is correct for certain on your box in a pinch this way.

    Interesting

I was told that clockwise is richer on all analog ECUs. It seems to be the case on my A17 anyway.

Seems like Mercury has been doing all they can to confuse us.

    Clockwise

Good. Otherwise I would have been even more confused, because turning it clockwise really seemed to make the engine run richer.

Jay, you don't happen to have the sheet with the ECU test parameters for the A17, do you?

    Push key choke

The wires are there already in the wire harness, so if they are not already connected, connect the wire that comes off the starter (I think it is yellow/black) to the wire in the key harness that is connected to the enrichment (choke) function. (I think that one is yellow/black, too)
