Hey John I did not do much national racing but I raced OPC back in the early 80's I also attended races before that and was pit crew for my good friend Herb Gaskins #109. I raced in such classes as Sport J Mod UJ and Champ Boat. I mainly raced in regions 3 & 4. I raced with Harley Wilson, Homer Green, Mike Herman , Bill Slivey, Paul Heathman, Tim Toth, John Mesh etc. just to name of few the good old days

John Gibbs
Rich you win the bet. You got me by a couple of years. That means John is really really old.
Here is a shot of Art and a few others.
Jim Merten Jr. was over last night and gave me a 100 or so photos and articles that along with all my others I will someday post.

Lou Epple
John, I guess I didn't know you were that close to Mercury back then. It was Bill Welch. He lives in Ohio now and is doing quite well. I saw him about a year ago. I was just kidding with you.
Here is a shot of Lou and a couple of others you might know.
Rich, you get to Oshkosh and I'll give you the ride.

Art Kennedy
Number 6 is still John Gibbs.
I'll try again on the photo of Art with Lou to follow.
Another Detail.>>>>If you remember Art usually used the bubble style face shield like Jimbo would use. John Gibbs as best as I can remember used the snap on shield that was taped

AJ Nardi
If I remember correctly this was the boat that Kenny Kitson set a UI Kilo record with. AJ Nardi bought it after that.

To Art's right or left in the picture is Lou Eppel. Behind Art standing to the left in the picture looks like Billy Seebold. Then there is Mike. Is the red haired guy Terry Leatherby? "Wild Guess"

Forgot to mention that Boat 655, a Marathon, who Gibbs also drove for before building and driving Inboards, was Ron ? Brown. I believe the last name is correct, but not sure of the first.

Tom Arnstad
John you are good. I believe that is Tom Arnstad driving the boat. He is the one that gave me the picture.
It is Terry Leatherby but the other guy is Duwayne Timm a buddy of Harold Nauss. He ran one of his boats with Terry. I can't remember why I was with all those OMC guys at the time.
