T-REX
That motor was for an abandoned flying saucer project. Still have it so maybe it'll find a home in an OB project sometime.
On props- are there any rather large ones out there? I've seen 3 1/2" and need it for a 3/8" or 5/16"shaft which I can bore out. Would like something that can consume about 2 hp at 4, 000 rpm for 5 mph. Found an aftermarket trolling prop guy but the props are not a specific pitch and would rather not take the chance. Think it comes out to 2-3" pitch but larger diameter.'90 STV

techno, i think you would be better off with a pair of trolling motors. spining a gas motor with a big prop for 5 miles and hour is just silly. but a pair of trolling motors would get the job done. some one has trim tab mounted motors that trim out of the way when running. those would be your best bet!

I've got 2 electric motors. The gas thing was something else.
The trim tab ones are way too expensive as are the trolling motors. This package will be super cheap since I'm casting my stuffing tubes and not using speed control.'90 STV

Awesome paint Raptor.
Guys, the MHZ drive could work on that hull. Problem... Its not designed for HP use. It can handle some power, but isn't a hard charger. Scale looks are right on. They're running about $300 US depending on exchange rate. MHZ is proud of their stuff and the prices very seldom drop.
OR.... there's the kind that looks like an outdrive with the shaft coming from under the center of the boat. Its actually a scalelike strut that really looks good and from a distance on the water or even on the stand. I belive that Jeff Yammers boat was a V & had one & would be my first choice for saving some $. If you've got a decent machinist, they could cut one out for you, just come up wit the design.

When you get it dialed in its an awesome thing. When it comes up on the pipe its like grabbing a gear and accellerating away! Remember to prop it so it stays on pipe and doesn't fall off in the corners. Btw, are you racing or kickin' it around?

Hey DD, you got any info on the KMB electric outboard I posted above? I heard someone was trying to get them (dealer) in the US.
Thanks for the MHZ info. When I get some time I may carve a scale looking strut out for my Cat. I like this one too.Jason

I've posted this pic before but here it is again for those of you that didn't see it last time. The orange one is a 40" 30cc gas V hull. The green one is a 36" Picco .65 nitro Hydroplane. The blue one is a 24" .21 nitro V hull and the white one is a 18" electric tunnel. Just some of my play toys.
