This one is stitting in my office at work. Makes for a good conversation piece.

Thank you. I'm partial to it myself Dumas Hotshot w/3.5 K&B. Its the aircooled version of the engine and has the lowest power, but still looks good.
This is sitting in the office also. The stand was my first project with the new mill. Nothing much but its good to have the boating stuff nicely displayed.Last edited by Stoker1; 06-21-2007 at 07:38 AM.

How about this? It's a scale model of a Broccoli C-Runabout, powered by a vintage Sea Fury .049 - and I have run it! Scoots right up on plane and runs free. I have to either set it at an easy arc or straight with a chase boat.
This is an older photo of the boat, as I have since added a modern style cowling.

25 years ago I raced a 60in V-bottom with a OPS 60.
Chas. SC
Randy's Hobbies was the place for us.
Randy himself won a lot of NATIONAL events back then.
Also was into planes at the time.
But loved that boat.
I won a division in STK 60 class. then when they pulled the liner out the engine! Guess what? BUSTED! little port work. just a little!!
OPS back then you could pull the cyc liner and do some work.
We did all kinds of stuff.
But it was fun!
I guess that stuff has changed a lot over the years.

That boat there is the Hornet. Its made by Byrds boats. Don't know if they're still in business or not but that boat sure was the closest to any HydroStream I've ever seen. The boat in question wasn't much of an oval racer but did get up on the pad and run just like the real thing.

That was Peter Muellers boat , he was not allowwed to run the boat at the race site because the design is not yet approved by namba , therefore not covered by insurance even for open water . They did run the boat at a local lake though and I think all went well .
I raced five classes and had a ball along with Rich Junker and his son Zach .Last edited by Tom Foley; 02-09-2007 at 05:47 PM.
