where to buy a press??
hey guys,
these OMC pistons are really annoying b/c the wrist pins need to be "pressed" in. im sick of whacking them with a hammer and i want to buy or make a press.
any ideas on something pretty cheap?? i was thinking of just welding up something like this..

Too Small
Get one that you can do bigger stuff too like a lower unit. They were about that much and bigger at Northen Hydraulic.

Bearings
All kind of bearings. Crankshaft bearings, lower units have a couple but that's on real motors I don't know about your Tyco

Unless you need the tons of force an arbor press is better. These are the ones with a lever geared to the pressing rod so pulling the arm down presses the stuff in or out. It's much much faster and easier too.
There are various places harbour freight, grizzly and the like. The bigger they are the higher they cost.
A large C-clamp could work if this is an infrequent use.

You don't need a press to put them together...
Warm the pistons under a heat lamp (Home Depot), and put your pin in the freezer for about a half an hour to an hour. They will slip right in with finger pressure only.
