Cost of running hi compression?
I see quite a few people running this high dollar fuel mod.
Wondering what you use during a week in gallons and $$?
What do you do for gas if it isn't at a gas station?
Also any one doing this that isn't drag racing?'90 STV

Techno,I run a bone stock 97'Merc.drag with 190lbs compression.I have to at least 100 octane so I get away--as long as all I am doing is boat riding--with mixing race fuel--110 octane--with Amaco super unleaded.Motor runs cool pyros around 1050.The only bad thing, aside from 3.50 a gal.,is if you go on vacation you have to carry fuel with you,and one day I am quite shure,I will get kicked out of a motel for having it in my room--it hasn't happened yet.People will tell you to run av-gas but it burnes way to dry for my liking. 2000 drag 210 lbs or 97 260 at 185 lbs. 110 is around 2.85 to 3.05 here, My boat carries 26 gallons and I usually put 6 gals of 93 in. I can get through a weekend on 26 gallons if I'm a good boy, twice that or more if I play hard.

Talk to Helmut
Talk to Helmut at the Romp. I don't know what kind of reliability you're looking for but he seems to have a nice formula. With the new ECU on top of that it might be just what you're looking for.

Just to be clear I don't want to run hi comp. The engine I bought had those heads on it and these were switched for something I can get and mostly afford.
Mostly wondering if youse guys running hi comp are only drag racing and only using a few gallons. Seems mighty spensive to burn up a tank of $$ for a few ponies.
For a lake runner it seems that cutting for hi compression is in the end a very expensive mod. Cheap up front but...
I could never get a weeks running on a tank, maybe a day. which is about the same as a week.'90 STV
