"PROJECT WARLOCK" race boat conversion update
Update of the conversion from a race boat (2 seat) to a full pleasure cockpit and complete re-rig.
With Jeff Bakers vast knowledge and help, a great deal of work was accomplished in the last week or so. Floor was added to the new area for the rear seat. Hatches were cut and fastened to the deck. West Systems Epoxy was used to glue the sections. One hundred dollars a gallon! Incredible strength compared to resin. New bulkhead behind rear seat installed. New gas tanks installed. The boat had three 33 gallon fuel cells. Now the boat will have two 27 gallon tanks, one for each engine. Weight savings 315 lbs when full. The frame for the rear bench seat is in. Pulling parts to be powder-coated. Wiring / plumbing is the next step while the interior is being made by the upholstery shop.
The boat is turning out to be lighter and stronger than the race version!

Last year I built a large garage with heat for so I can play all year round. The epoxy sytem is done with fiberglass to reinforce. We have also used fiberglass and resin in many areas. So far a 10' x 5' section of glass has been used.

Funny you should bring that up about the beer cans. I actually found three.
Powercoating is next. I will snap pictures of this "do it yourself" powdercoat project.

Washington State and then to Illinois. Dave aka "Warlock" owned it for a while before me and may have left a few emptys in the boat. The 25" midsections are to compensate for the very tall transom. Most were single I/O's from the factory.
