Its deffinatly a HEAVY boat!! You almost need two people to pick it up!!
slowverado: your dads advice/opinion is just that... his OPINION. You are right that he has driven blah boat blah mph with blah setup, and thats what worked for HIM. everyone sets up their boats for how it drives best for THEM. ie- people who ALWAYS ride with a passenger will tell you that you dont need a centersteer boat whereas someone who rides solo will praise center steer. There is nothing wrong with their recommendations, its just what works for THEM. no different than what your dad is telling you...1986 Laser 380 comp- being re-done... slowly...

he boat will be on the weater this monday, so I can put some driving hours to know the boat and how it handles itseld flying over the water with the 14.5 X 28 Cleaver, got that 32 also
I think the pad will make it fly!!, just one week away from the river world cup 2K10!!
also TREX, DO YOU KNOW of someone that has a LASEr with the added pad like mine, but isntead of outboard, is Jet powered?? how does it handle the LASER with a turbine?
LATER Today I'll upload pics from the boat with logo and seats
also advice me with the height of lower unit (water intakes) vs water line

so far, have'nt find that mistery LASER...
boat went to the water with the 2.0 L Mariner wih a liwer unit 20' and a Cleaver 14.5 X 24 67 miles per hour / with limited rpm power packs, gave 6,200 does'nt give more...
a question what's the height that i SHOULD have with an original cone transmission high performance with water down intakes, height from the hull to the torpedo??
best regards, what do you think of a Chopper 14.5 x 26, 27 ad 28?? I believe it will uplift it too much righT??

TREX!!! I WOn! the first stage of the world cup!! Bacalar, Chetumal OB 2000 (OUTBOARDS 2.0L - 2.4L)- 1rst place
In the river race we ran it with the nose lower unit and with the Cleaver 14.5 X 24 made 6200 RPM and a top speed of 68 miles per hour (GPS)! we arrived in second, we got lost in a section of the river jeje, but made it to the finish in great time!! 78km, the next stage was from Botes San Francisco to Bacalar 92km got there with a hurt transmission and the Cleaver a lil' damaged, we hitted a rock in the shallow part of the mangrooves..
then we changed the tranny and put the Chopper 14.5 x 25 worked as a beast in the circuit race, ten laps which were 4 miles each, it gave us 5000-5200 and a max speed of 72miles per hour (gps)!!! awsome we were right behind 2 Stokers with fixed 2.4 engies and our stock 2.0 mariner 150hp made it great!!! and the Chopper works real good but takes more fuel than the Cleaver and lifts faster the hull, I drove the lap circuits, and yes as you trimmed it, u find the sweet spot but we felt the hull faces to much against the wind! its a resistance but when it's perfectly trimmed it lifts itself beautifully, I have on tape (Go pro - hd cam) parts of the river race...
It was awsome, now for the Tabasco and Chiapas stages!
the pad worked perfectly! amazing the LASER speed boaT!
