    My Rig

This is a Stratos VT ski. Its basically an LTV that they stretched 2 feet and made a liuttle wider. The tunnels actally have some flat area to them...not all v to the sponson. The boat is a work in progress...but it's getting there. This isn't the best picture from the front but it gives an idea of the width added to the tunnels.

Ole mith, laser ltv blows over when at speeds over 100.....no so with the right setup.........people would not run a high prop height and tended to overtrim......then flipsky.......
Don't be so week ta thank this "OLE MITH" won't bite U in tha ass!!!!....U don't need to over trim a LTV to blow it over!!!....River layup LTV's are heavier, and more stable than thier lighter mod vp layups, and naturally feel more stable...My LTV(in river form) with a 200 2.4(slightly modded) would run 92, and did it very stable!!!....After lightn'in tha hull az light az possible for the Pro 120 class in ODBA, the "flight" charistiks changed!!!!....After a lenghthy conversation wit Summerford, I decided to add 1" to the center pad, and totally changed the drive'in ov the boat...I run a 2.0 carbed mota, and run between 86-90mph...I sold it to Nick, he put a 260 on back, and he drove tha crap outta it and it never got him wet, but I contribute that to the extra 1" on the pad!!!...

The LTV don't need over trim to go over...It will lift in a vert attitude, and U don't even know it till the prop looses bite, drops the ass, and yo ass iz wet!!!...And, there haz been several LTV's go over BELOW 90 MPH!!...I ain't say'in be skeered ov tha LTV, juss know what kan happen, and be cautious!!!...Set up iz tha key to a proper perform'in bote, any bote...But till U git there, U ARE ON THIN ICE, and a LTV will git U wet!!!...

Heerz a pic ov tha pad mod, and one ov it runn'in.........I wish Summerford would step up and tell his LTV testing stories...will wake ya up fer sho!!!

I ran an LTV in MVP in 1984. We got 103-105 with a Merc mod VP 2.4 BP, with heads cut .060", no other mods. Prop was 30" Merc cleaver, normally raced with a 28 cleaver unless the course was real long. One of the most comfortable boats I have ever driven. Balance was important, not with the weight all aft. With cable steering I believe I could have run WO and drank a drink at the same time. A great boat, shame they aren't still around.

I had the ecu come unplugged at the end of the quarter...everything shut off, even my heart. The boat just sat down in the water and coasted to a stop nice and easy like. I ran my motor fairly high and the only bottom mod was that it was worked by Thomas. One of the pictures Itchy posted for me showed the boat in a hole that was in the track. The boat handled it with no problem at all...I love em!!

    Lightbulb T-Rex iz right

Better watch out! I did a bunch of glass work on a buddy's 87 LTV. We lightened that thing up a bunch...took all the foam out replaces the 3/4" water soaked flooring with 1/4" and put some 88 model Pro Comp seats in it. Fixed all the chipped edges on the bottom etc, It had a stock 2.4 87 model motor with some intake mods and dried exhaust. Would twist a 26re prop to 8000 rpm hard and then it would blow out! Never had a boat blow out on me before, scared the crap out of me. Felt alot like the gearcase glanced off of somthing in the water...back of boat would drop and jump over to the right about 2 ft getting the boat all out of shape. I did this about 3 times and quit.
It scared the guy that owns the boat so bad he wont even drive the thing anymore. I bet sombody could get that boat cheap from him and all the glass works done already! As hard as it twisted that 26re to 8000 i'd be willing to bet there was atleast 700 more rpm in it if you can get the thing to quit blowing out.... I think his problem is the cle case but my old STV had a cle on it and seen speeds well over 100 and never would blow out so i realy dont know what the problem was and he didnt want to play with it anymore so now it just sits there....

Thumbs up I blowed one over at 105

I blowed one over at 105 mph running 1400 Mod in Selma in a race not GOOD.
Be care full mine almost made it a complete 360 degree flip.
If you have any slack in your bushing or mounts in the clamp bracket
they will trim out 2-5 degrees when you let out on the throttle.
    good luck

ther is no dought that these boats are fast and that they can blow over but all tunnels can blow over, but with today technoligy and a little common sence it is unlikely, T REX is right, its all about the set up,if you set it up wrong and drive past your ablities things just happen.and this go,s for all boats
