Best speed
I hit 91.7 mph in my dad's (POP-O_826) Laser LTV... And it"s a Fishin' boat, that was rigged to fish... Two batteries, all the polls the rod box could hold, and a trolling motor....
It's got an 86 2.4, built by Jon Wright, it now has stock heads on it, but is a little stronger with the 26cc's....03 Sharpe 16' X 82' Houseboat

Here is a pic of the boat when it was still side steer....oldschoolltv, I saw your boat from a distance at the Blowout, but I would have liked to see it up close. In fact, if anyone has any pics of their LTVs, running or on the trailer, I would really like to see them!

Motor height
How hi above the pad do you run yours, Brian? I've been telling dad," it's too low", I feel it could come up at least a 1/4" or more..
His has all kinds of bow lift, I also know that the prop he's running can cause that, but I been looking at your pics, and those motors look higher....
If you have time, let me know.......03 Sharpe 16' X 82' Houseboat

cool pics
Man I like seeing all these pics it gives me ideas on how I want to make my rear seat, maybe someday I can get some running shots, also I was wondering how that whale tail on the yellow boat works, I was considering some type of foil for mine, for cruising under 30mph it likes to porpoise some unless you trim it all the way under. hope I get to see all these in person, Nat it looks like it is coming along good. Matt

There are a lot of factors that must be considered when you talk about how high to run you motor. Your boat will like the nose cone above the transom when running mid to top end. It will not leave as hard there. You must have your gear case in good shape. If you don't you will have blow out problems. Mine is three boats in one, everything below 90mph. Another from 90-100. And still another after 100mph. Get a prop with as much transom lift as you have bow lift. You want the boat to run as flat as possible. Making sure the whole boat is out of the water. Gene as Remco has a lot of experience with these boats, he could build you a prop that will work. The boats are like any other, weight has a lot to do with the way they feel. A hydraulic jack plate will help you find the right spot, they can be adjusted while running. You can get one from T&R marine in Perry Fl. You want a 5" offset. Be sure to be safe and try only one thing at a time.

SOUNDS GOOD
Laser sent this prop to us, we've tried many since 86, and always go back to it.... At mid-range it porposes alot, but on top end is very stable....
Actually, I like driving it, better than my Mirage.... I know there's some left, take everthing off it and we might see 95.... But to be going on it 14th year with no rebuild, it's impressive....

Yep thats a good place to be.
I only drag race with mine. Don't care for top-end running. If I can figure out how to get picutres from one post to another I will post one of mine.
