New Pontoon boat world record

It came to my attention today that one of our local guys just set the record on Monday at lake Shelbyville in central Illinois
This is 2nd hand info but is from one of the guys that was there.
Brad Rowland set the new record with an 85 mph radared pass, the boat was a (I may be wrong on the length and make) 26' Playcraft with twin Merc 300X s on it.
This is not a stripped down version it still has all the lounge chairs and most everything else that goes with a pontoon boat.
One of the major boating mags. (I think it was Power boat ) was here shooting Pics and writing an artical on it.
I don't know the exact details on it but they are in North Carolina right now with Reggie Fountain, Reggie flew them down (had some one haul the boat) he said he knows there is more in it on salt water.
Looks like 85 may not stand for long.
Brad was running Hydromotive props but not sure what pitch.

I have seen this boat running down the lake and it's a real hoot watching him pass those big twin big block offshore boats, I just wounder how they explain it to ther passengers after telling them they had the fastest boat on the lake then a pontoon boat passes them up. LOL

If you are ever in central IL. watch out for a Pontoon boat named
"Tooned In" its better not to race than to get beat by a Toon.

Odysey used to hold the record. I was selling them they ran I thing 82.9 with twin 2.5s. I might add that was a tritoon which acts like a tunnel hull. Rick

There is another shootout going on Mon-wed on Lake Normon NC.
Pontoon & Deckboat Mag is running a test on all manufacturers products.
We sent a Lowe 22ft deckboat w/ a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke, a 20 ft Lowe pontoon w/ an Evenrude E-tec, and a 24' pontoon w/ an I/O
