Nat Airport
The thing that you need to understand is that the closer you get to DC the less sence things make. Rember your next to what we call a "choclete bar" 80% choclete, 20% nuts. Did you know that the DC school system spends the most money per student in the nation($15,000.00) and is the worst in the nation.

Nice SS roof!
I think it is under $7,000 per kid here. They tried more money and the test scores still went down. Not a matter of money to educate kids, even the democrat union people might admit that here now. They just keep trying to change the way they test now, so you can't compare the falling scores The quality of the teachers and materials is where it is at, but there is only one way to improve that: charter schools, and they are growing like crazy here. Maybe some day the kids will learn how to use a ruler, what happens in wars, how gov't works, and all the things people omitted out of the cooked history books.
Ya, what about the Borum?

Georgia is among the worst in the nation, and locally, someithing like 80% of white kids are in private schools. There are about 8 private schools in a metro area of about 175K. Anyhow, the local school board, who must be the biggest collective bunch of idiots on the planet, only knows how to build new buildings. Scores down more???? We need more new buildings. With closed schools, long since paid for, sitting around vacant all over town, they constantly buy more high dollar property and build. Several years ago they bought a closed K Mart shopping center which nobody could figure out why they needed. They said they were doing some kind of continuing education center which nobody could figure out either. The area it's in isn't close to residential and nobody could explain why they didn't just renovate a closed school for this purpose since everybody would have to drive to it anyway. After the purchase, which was done without an appraisal, and proved to be far in excess of the appraised value, the Board of Ed began renovation. It was obvious at the beginning that the buildings would have to have an entire new roof structure because it was noticeably falling in. What they didn't know was that the foundations had been partially washed out in a flood several years earlier. So after the roof was done, they spend hundreds of thousands pumping concrete under the building to shore up the footings. About time they got done with all this, some bureacrat realized that the building was too close to a train track, which violated Federal laws for students, so they bulldozed the whole thing and started over. Now they've got a 20 million dollar facility that nobody's exactly sure what goes on in there, except they supposedly have a kitchen and prepare food for the entire local school system. It's not offices for the BOE either, because they bought an entire VERY NICE office building from a bank several years ago and occupy most of it.
And guess what............... they're crying for yet another tax increase.Membership upgrade options: http://www.screamandfly.com/payments.php

schools
about 5 yrs ago here in balt. they did a whole bunch of renovations in intercity schools at a great cost to taxpayers and then demolished the projects and shipped out the welfare reciepiants to more "affluent" neghborhoods. so all the money they spent for the schools are vacent buildings. and as far as the borum goes,i've really got an understanding of the word patience now!
